COVID-19 Office Update from Cornerstone

And just like you, we're keeping up with the latest news about the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and its impact on our communities and the markets.

This page contains the latest information on the decisions and subsequent guidance we are providing. As the coronavirus situation evolves, this page will be updated.

Due to the uptick in cases in our area and around the country we have decided to temporarily close our lobby to guests and will be moving to virtual meetings until we can safely allow guests inside again. That said, we will continue to work and it will be business as usual with our office doors closed.

We want to assure all of you that we have a Business Continuity Plan in place to minimize any possible disruption to our team and our ability to service our clients. We are prepared to continue the high level of service you expect from us. To give you practical examples of the infrastructure we already have in place:

  • We can answer your emails from anywhere in the world.

  • We can answer your phone calls from anywhere in the world.

  • We can process trades from anywhere in the world.

  • We can process rollovers, contributions, distributions, etc. via DocuSign; you guessed it, from anywhere in the world.

To be clear, we are NOT closing the office or the business; we are working diligently for you from early mornings to late nights. However, with the recommendation from the CDC, we have made the difficult, yet extremely important decision to ask ALL of our team members to work from home, and so our office is temporarily closed to the public. We have put secured systems in place so that we can continue “business as usual” remotely. Our team will be working remotely from home with complete access to our normal computer systems and we will be available via email and cell phone to transact business and take care of your needs. With this decision, we would like to highlight a few changes that you may experience over the next few days or weeks.

Because our team is working away from the office, we will not be able to answer the phone right away when you call. Would you please leave a detailed message on our voicemail so that we can call you back and answer your questions or process your request? We are able to receive our voicemail messages through our secured email and will be able to follow up on every call. With that, you should be aware that the number that you have entered into your phone’s memory/address book is our office number. You may be receiving a phone call from one of our valued team members’ cell phone number as they are working at their home and away from the office phones. We recognize and respect that you may not want to answer your phone if you don’t recognize the phone number on your caller ID, so we would be happy to leave a message for you so that you know that it is a legitimate number. We will also send a follow-up email to make sure that you know that we received your message and are trying to connect with you.
