Cornerstone Ruminations: How to Beat the Winter Blues
How to Beat the Winter Blues
We're in February. It's dark and cold and we're all ready for spring. Do you have the winter blues? We all have different ways of cheering ourselves up this time of year. Read below to learn more about how the CWMP team beats their winter blues.
Don – Enjoy a cup of hot cocoa by the fireplace and reflect on my many blessings. I also try to escape to a warmer climate, even if it is just for a few days for sunshine.
Leslie – Travel, travel, travel to a warm, sunshine filled beach! And hopefully, travel more than once during the winter months!
Hailey – Since I live in Montana where it snows all winter, I can beat the winter blues by participating in a winter sport. I absolutely love to snowboard. My husband taught me how to snowboard and we both look forward to bonding together over snowboarding every year. Another way I beat the winter blues is by embracing the change in season and involving myself in my local community. Finding joy in the beauty of snow falling, winter decorations, town events and being friendly with neighbors when shoveling my driveway helps me stay positive!
Meredith – Picking up new hobbies! I’ve begun painting again after a long lapse. It’s a relaxing way to spend an afternoon and I continually see improvements which inspires me to keep going.
Jennifer – Luckily, it doesn’t get too cold here in NC, but the limited daylight can bring us all down sometimes. I like to beat the winter blues by getting together with friends and visiting my parents in the mountains. Together time always helps lift my spirits!
