Cornerstone Ruminations

The saying “the world is your oyster” suggests that endless opportunities lie before us, waiting to be discovered. Yet within that vast possibility, each of us also has the potential to be the pearl—something rare and luminous that grows from within. Just as a pearl forms through time, resilience, and transformation, so too can we cultivate inner strength and purpose that radiate outward to positively impact others. To be the pearl means using our unique experiences and values to bring light, meaning, and change to the world around us.

Don

"The Lord God is my pearl and my shining light that guides me in my life and in my relationships with others."

Leslie

"I believe that the World Is Your Oyster – ONLY – if you’ll reach out and grab the many opportunities that are presented to you.  Smile, grab the opportunity and hang on . . . you could be blessed beyond your wildest dreams!"

Hailey

"A pearl forms when an irritant such as a grain of sand or parasite enters the oyster. Much like a grain of sand, a wound or a challenge can also be seen as an irritant in one’s life. Growth and beauty in us often emerge through discomfort, struggle, and resilience, just like the pearl. Embracing challenges as catalysts for transformations and making space for learning is a way that I bring light, value and change from within."

Autumn

"This is a very thought-provoking rumination, but I would have to say - never quit learning and evolving. Never slow down or "settle". We all...ALL have a purpose in this life. I truly believe we were all born with a purpose or "gift". I believe we should always be seeking our purpose/"gift" and once we find it, we should always strive to be better at it!! Slowing down slows the mind and weakens the soul. You should always keep moving with your "best foot forward" and never think of "failure" as a negative - know that it is a teaching moment, change, and grow from it."

Taylor

"I believe we bring light, value, and change by discovering what feels authentic to us and boldly living that way. When we show up as our full selves, flaws, gifts, and all, we permit others to do the same. This opens the door to deeper connections, greater acceptance, and more empathy and compassion, things I believe we could all use a little more of."
