Cornerstone Ruminations

Words of wisdom often hold a special place in our hearts, especially when they come from beloved family members. These nuggets of advice can guide us through life's challenges, offer comfort in tough times, and inspire us to be our best selves. Whether spoken during a quiet moment or shared in the midst of laughter, these cherished lessons can shape our perspectives and choices. So, what are some words of wisdom that a beloved family member has shared with you? Let’s reflect on the enduring impact of their insights.

Don – Words from my Grampa Dailey - “Be true to yourself and remember that family is always #1.”

Leslie – Words from my mother – “It is better to stand for something than to stand for nothing at all.” And she said that I should be able to continue to “stand” for it the next day… in other words, don’t be wishy washy. I’m pretty sure that I took that advice to heart and still “stand” for those words of wisdom.

Hailey – My mom’s most important words of wisdom were to always be aware of our surroundings. Make sure to watch out for people and be aware of them and their experiences as it is not always about ourselves.

Autumn – My mama always said to me growing up that I shouldn't care so much about what people think - oh and to always have lipstick on hand because you never know when you will need it 😁 <-- this is actually very true!

Jennifer – From my parents “It’s okay to ask for help. That’s what we’re here for.” As an independent person, it’s hard to ignore the urge to do everything myself.
